Do black lives really matter?

Black lives matter... That phrase is all over social media these days. Problem is, black lives only seem to matter when they are killed by a white cop. Where is BLM when blacks are killing each other in Chicago EVERY SINGLE DAY? Where were they when a black retired officer was killed trying to defend a friend's store that was being looted and destroyed by rioters? Where were they when a food truck vendor was killed while trying to make a living during these violent "protests"?

If you're going to claim black lives matter then you'd better be just as outraged by blacks killed by blacks as you are those killed by a white cop. You'd better be even more enraged when black business owners are attacked and their stores destroyed in the midst of your "protest".

These people are destroying their own neighborhoods, for what? What lesson does that teach corrupt cops? What change does that make when you continue to vote in the same democrats year after year when they continue to do nothing for your community? Do you know what your violent actions show the rest of the world? It shows me that you are vile, inhumane people that don't give a shit about George Floyd. You wanted a crisis so you could continue to play the victim while blaming everyone else for your failures. You're using George's death as an excuse to violate the rights of others while claiming that yours have been taken away.

You want to know why so many folks are leery of black people? Because of folks like those that are "protesting" by attacking other people. By ruining the livelihoods of people that had nothing to do with George's death. The looting of stores caused businesses to shut down, putting people out of work. So all you've done in your search for "justice" is make yourselves look like animals, lose support from over half the country and hurt thousands of innocent people, many of whom are black as well.

You have a right to be irate. Your anger is justified. What happened to George Floyd should have never been allowed and the entire country is in agreement that these officers should be charged with murder. You DO NOT have the right to infringe on other people's rights in order to express that anger. At least not without consequences.

So, if you're going to attack innocent people & businesses, burn down buildings and disregard barriers and requests from law enforcement that are in place to keep people safe...don't complain when people fight back. Don't play the victim or cry injustice when a business or homeowner shoots someone for attacking their home or store. Don't cry about excessive force when you get in a cops face in an attempt to push through a security barrier and they pepper spray you or throw you down and arrest you.

We are through with your excuses. There is no reason for police brutality. There's even less reason for these riots and attacks that are happening as a result. You must learn that your vote is the most powerful tool of all if you want change. It's time to clean house and get rid of the folks that have been telling you what's best for many years. Stop blindly following what they say. Do some research and vote for the change you claim you want. Because the current method you're employing leads me to believe you like playing the victim.

Taste the rainbow...who didn't see that coming?

So, Skittles, which is a rainbow candy by default, thought making an all white version would be a good idea. Now, many fruit candy makers have made single colored versions of their candy in the past but I have to wonder and the thought process behind this marketing scheme. They made an all white version to celebrate...gay pride?

That's right...in an effort to support to LGTB (or whatever the acronym is now) folks, they created a limited edition package that are all white. The world is having a field day with this (clearly) racist display by a company whose product supports "the cause" on a daily basis by default.

I'm guessing the outcome would have been the same regardless of the color chosen, since we are a world full of perpetually offended pansies that want nothing more than to find something offensive in every aspect of life.

Red?  Nope, that would be offensive to native americans.
Yellow? Nope, the asians would be pissed.
Black? Um, are you fucking kidding me?
Pink? I'm sure all the feminists would accuse them of appropriating their pussy hat culture.
Green? Maybe, but the aliens in their UFO's would be down here protesting that one.

Sorry skittles...your intentions were good but that doesn't matter to the easily offended that make up so much of our population these days. I'd be happy to test out those all white versions for you, if you'd like to send me some free coupons or samples. I'm not a bigot when it comes to my candy...sweet and sugary is all I need...I'm color blind!

Accept our support or shut the hell up

I don't know who this guy is but his speech at the BET awards is the biggest batch of whiny shit I've ever heard.

"We’re done watching and waiting while this invention called whiteness uses and abuses us, burying black people out of sight and out of mind while extracting our culture, our dollars, our entertainment... ghettoizing and demeaning our creations, then stealing them, gentrifying our genius and then trying us on like costumes before discarding our bodies like rinds of strange fruit."

I'm so sick of the term cultural appropriation. This is America. The whole point of this country is to be a melting pot where we can appreciate and share cultures. If you don't want white people to do the same things you do, perhaps you should move to an all black country. How many times have we seen black women bleach their hair and change their eye color to look more white? Just stop it. Nobody is stealing anything from anyone.

The additional backlash to Justin Timberlake's support of the speech is even more ludicrous. You are pissed because white people are "stealing your culture" but can't accept their support for your "cause".

Is it any wonder that white people are no longer sympathetic to your "struggles"? No matter what we do we are wrong and racist. Well, we are done. We no longer take you seriously and don't give a damn how you feel about the so called racial injustice. The only people that continue to identify things as racist are black people that can't stand that people are different.

Justin should have never apologized to the worthless scum that dared to accuse him of being racist and part of the problem. He should have stood his ground, haters be damned. You don't need help "gettoizing your creation". You're doing that we'll enough on your own.

Now the Declaration of Independence is racist?

First, I can't take this woman seriously when she says "only Caucasians was free". That sure doesn't sound like proper English to me but I'm a little picky about that so...moving on.

Second, if we stopped teaching everything that was offensive to someone the history of the world would disappear completely. Maybe they think that will make it all better? To pretend it never happened?

Our children are already growing up to be way less intelligent than previous generations because of the way they are treated, disciplined and the information that schools are allowed to teach. Heaven forbid we teach them about the past, even the bad parts, so they aren't doomed to repeat them.

All Lives...are racist??

Based on some recent posts, I'd say it's more like "BLACK LIVES ARE RACIST"

As we've all seen, the world is filled with entitled brats that want everything for free and can't handle the stress of a world where everyone doesn't love and adore them. Similarly entitled is the BLM movement and their folks that cry racism at being excluded. Unfortunately, their tactics of attempting to exclude others to gain inclusion is pretty much a bust.

It's hypocritical to accuse white people of not letting you join their club and then form your own and refuse to allow white people in. That's a pretty childish move and makes it impossible for people to take you or your cause seriously.

In this article, we find out that saying "all lives matter" is now considered racist. Wow, I'd like to know when they changed the definition of the term racist because that's not what it meant when I was growing up.

This young woman goes on to claim that white people couldn't possibly understand what it's like to grow up where people hate you or to struggle, be exposed to crime, etc. Hmmmm, let's think about that...shall we?

- Based on a good number of the self posted videos I see from predominately black neighborhoods, you folks act like a bunch of violent thugs with no regard for human life. You think watching 4 people beat the hell out of one lone person is funny and you'd rather record it than step in to help.

- There are always people in this world that are going to hate you for one reason or another. If they are not physically harming you in some way...why the hell do you care? Get over it.

- When things don't go your way, work for change. Rioting, looting and destroying your own city just reinforces the stereotype that you're all a bunch of low life punks that don't deserve our respect. You want to be treated differently? Act differently. Take the proper steps to make change, even if you don't agree with the process...do it and then you can try to change that process. Breaking the law is not the answer.

- This woman claims black people are getting shot in the streets. Well, since the majority of those shootings are black on black crime, I think you're going to have to work that out for yourselves.

- Blacks are not being rounded up and thrown in prison. Well, it may seem that way since a disproportionately large percentage of blacks are convicted of crimes. Want to know how to fix that? STOP.BREAKING.THE.LAW!!!

Now, since it's pretty clear to see that the folks in the BLM movement, and their supporters, are their own worst enemy...when can we get back to normal life and stop fighting among ourselves? When will you stop blaming other people for your failures in life? When will you take responsibility for your own life and realize that it's not fair and that's the way it'll always be. GET OVER IT!

No, white people are not afraid of black people taking over

I love when people say that white folks are afraid of what blacks folks could do if they unite. Um, I don't see that ever happening and here's my response.

We're not afraid of black people uniting because you never will. Too many of you spend most of your lives fighting with each other and expecting a handout because of something that happened way before any of us were born. The world doesn't owe you anything. You have to work for it just like everyone else...oh, unless you're black because then you can take advantage of the NAACP, United Negro College Fund and hundreds of other organizations that are focused only on people of color.

You have so many opportunities to get ahead in the world, yet so many people refuse to try. Until we can stop the entitlement and get people to understand that life isn't fair or free, the racial divide will never close. And just because I'm white doesn't mean I'm racist. Just because I'm sick of black people threatening legal action, or violence, when they feel offended or held back doesn't make me racist.

You hold yourselves back by choosing to continue in this life of violence & poor decisions. You can have a better life but don't expect it to be handed to you. Every other race in the US works to achieve their dreams. Why should you be any different? And don't yell slavery...nobody alive today ever was a slave or owned slaves so get over the past and make your own future.

I used to enjoy black history month

But the entitlement generation of today has ruined that for me.

I used to enjoy hearing about the history of the world and what happened to bring us to where we are today...but then I see videos like this and I think "who the hell do you think you are?".

MTV decided to show us what would happen if there was no black history month. What they actually did was make it appear that the world would be nothing without black people. Um, yeah...that's a good way to get white people to take your grievances seriously. Tell us we're nothing without you...even though the folks complaining the most have contributed the least.

Pretty far stretch to say there wouldn't be any technological or medical advances if it hadn't been for black people. No country music without black people? No colorful and "exciting" clothes? If your plan was to drive a deeper wedge between whites & blacks, you've done it.

Comments on the video range from support to indifference to accusations. Sadly, the white folks that are voicing their support are being attacked because they either need to stop trying to appropriate the black culture or they just don't understand what black people go through. Say what? People are trying to support your cause and all you can do is try to make them feel guilty for things they had nothing to do with?

Responses like this, which make up the majority of the comments I see, make me lose all respect for people that claim racism & discrimination. Why is it always the black people that are oppressed by white people? You think singling us out and stereotyping us into one group isn't racist? It is and stop trying to say it's not. Everyone can experience racism. That's not a term exclusive to black people.

You segregate yourselves by creating mass numbers of black only organizations. When an organization only allows white members, that's racist but you don't think it's the same when the colors are turned around? Wrong! It's no different. Well, except that a white organization will eventually be forced to allow all races or they'll be sued and shut down. That never happens with black organizations. Explain how that's not racist?

If you want change, then work for it. Go to college. Become a member of a party that can change education materials. Make laws to ensure fair treatment. Stop the hatred and violent protests against people that had nothing to do with where your life is right now. You are responsible for your life. Not your parents, teachers, friends, the government. You may face challenges with those entities but they do not define you. You make your choices and whining about how nobody understands you and life isn't fair will get you nothing.

It's not racist! It's demographics!

FEED A CHILD has apologized for a controversial ad that was deemed, by some, as racist. If you haven't seen it, there's a link below but here's a run down.

White woman "pets" black child and feeds him a small treat

White woman gives black child a treat for bringing her some sort of item

White woman eats dinner and gives black child a small piece as the child sits under the table

Ending message says some dogs are fed better than some children.

Now, as you first watch you may have thoughts similar to those reflected by others that have watched the video. How could anyone create something like this, let alone allow their child to participate? It's degrading, shocking, etc.

What most folks fail to realize is that this organization is based in South Africa. Wouldn't it stand to reason that the majority of the children they aim to feed are black? Wouldn't it make sense to appropriately represent the children you are trying to help?

Nevermind accurately representing the scenario they want the viewer to donate to. Clearly many folks are more concerned that it's racist to see a white woman feeding a black child than the actual plight of the children this commercial is meant to solicit help for.

Would they be happy to see a white child depicted in the role of the dog? Or would that also be racist because that would mean the organization believes people would donate more money for a white child, as opposed to a black child?

Maybe if some of these folks focused as much effort on helping these children as they do in pushing their constant claims of racism, we wouldn't need commercials like this.

Julie Delpy may be right

Julie Delpy said that being a woman in the film industry is the worst because you're often ignored when you point out the inequality in the industry, as she did years ago regarding sexism. She's quickly bashed on social media and ends up apologizing because some in the black community took offense.

Blacks all over the US throw a fit because they don't feel enough blacks are nominated for Oscars, threaten to boycott the show and people fall all over themselves to make changes to their policies to appease them.

White woman gets a social media beat down & is forced to apologize.

Black woman gets praise and accommodation for her tirade.

Sounds to me like the folks bashing Julie have just proved her point.

I could be the next Tamir Rice

Well, if you're a kid that plays with real looking toy guns in a public park and doesn't know better than to reach for the gun  when police arrive? Yeah, I guess you could be.

Thought this kid had more common sense. Apparently not based in this article.

Parents, please teach your children better. He's right about one thing, this has to stop but it starts with stopping the stupidity and entitlement our citizens display on a daily basis.

Police Brutality Must Stop

We must stop the war that is being waged against our law enforcement officers.

I know, you were expecting something different. You thought I was going to say the police are too violent and people need to rebel. Well, you thought wrong! You won't hear that from me...EVER.

Far too often we hear of cases where a student has gotten into an altercation with a police officer. In almost every case we find out that the incident started because the student refused to cooperate, follow instructions and/or leave when asked to do so by a teach, principal, etc.

Officers attacked on unruly school bus

I don't care how brutal or violent you think these videos are, the root cause of every situation is the lack of respect displayed by the student. These officers didn't just walk up to the teens and get violent. NO...they were provoked by a generation of entitled brats that think they can do whatever they want with no consequences. In many cases, the differing race of the student and officer are used to claim racial motivation for the actions of the officer when the reality is that they are just tired of dealing with people that want nothing more than to provoke them into losing their temper.

How about the double standard that comes into play when a black student attacks a white teacher. The media says nothing because that might make people realize that it's not a world where only white people are attacking black people.

Black student attacks white teacher, media goes silent.

People are attacking each other. In many cases it doesn't have anything to do with their race, people just have no moral compass anymore. They don't care about what other people think and they have no respect for human life.

It's really very simple...don't break the rules/laws and the cops won't have to be called. If the cops aren't called, there won't be any need for an altercation. However, if the police are called...cooperate and don't act like a total a$$ and you'll be fine.

UPDATE: In more racial hate mongering news, Teen Vogue posted this article which is clearly a biased opinion of the writer and in no way presents the facts as a true journalist would strive to do. Oh, who am I kidding? There are very few true journalists left in this world and Teen Vogue isn't exactly known for its intellectual articles. Sadly, I could identify the race of this writer before I even saw her name or picture. I love how she questions the integrity of those students that walked out in support of this officer and brushes the original issue under the rug. Her behavior doesn't excuse his but it's sure as hell was started it.

It may be an entitlement problem, not a racist cop problem

So, a white cop got physical with a black student and it's immediately deemed a racially motivated incident. Based on some of the reports about this officer's background, I'm more inclined to believe he's just a jerk, in general.

That troubling information aside, why is nobody concerned about why this started to begin with? This teenager refused to do as instructed by a teacher and the vice principal.

Then refused to cooperate with the officer when he asked her to leave the room. What did she expect? That they'd just give up because she was being a little brat and refusing to follow instructions?

If you don't respect others, especially your teachers, you deserve what you get.

It's very disturbing to me that so many people are completely ignoring the fact that this punk ass teenager lacks any respect for authority and is a complete asshole. Another member of the entitlement generation that feels they can do whatever they want.

No, this doesn't make you racist

5 women died while in 5 different jails this week. I guess that makes all cops racist, right? No, I'm gonna have to call B.S. on that one.

It's no surprise that nearly every interaction with the police has been spun to be some sort of racial issue. What I just can't get past is why almost all of these people resisted or failed to cooperate.

In many cases, it started as a simple traffic stop. Why the hell did you argue, fight back and/or try to run? Take the warning/ticket, keep your mouth shut and move on. It's not a difficult concept. Thousands of people do it every day.

Now they want to create some trend from 5 black women that died in jail this month. 1 had health problems. 1 committed suicide. A 3rd potentially committed suicide. That leaves 2 more that could be considered questionable. How is that supposed to convince me that all cops are racist?

Just doesn't make sense. You know what does make sense? Not breaking the law. Staying out of jail. Staying alive!

Ethnic Halloween costumes make me racist?

Wow, so I apparently opened up a huge can of worms by saying that I didn't think ethnic halloween costumes were racist as long as the wearer wasn't portraying the character in a demeaning light. If you want to see more, go to the Ask A Manager page. My comment is the 2nd on this post and I'm being attacked in a mass number of posts after. I was even called a "smug twit"! LOL

I love the post that basically calls me a racist for being accepting of the situation. People can stretch anything to make a scandal and I'm so sick of all the intolerance. I knew there were people that had strong opinions and probably wouldn't agree but I had no idea that they all read this Ask A Manager blog!

I guess if we want to be fair then we should not allow "non-white" people to buy costumes that portray white people as that could be considered "reverse racism". And what the heck is reverse racism anyway? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

There are always going to be people that hate you based on your race, sex, education, etc. Who cares? Let them hate, that is their problem and unless they act on it, it has nothing to do with you directly.

Stop giving power to those that want to be hate mongers, including the folks that felt the need to attack me for posting my opinion, which is what the website owner asked for.

Freedom of speech, but only if you agree with what the majority of the public think, eh?

Well, that's not how I live so if you don't like my opinion...move on! I'm not hurting you, I'm not defaming anyone and I'm not speaking ill of any other person, race or gender. Get over yourselves and find something to do that will actually benefit the world...instead of spreading more hate.
