They don't care about the truth

I recently read an article where a police officer gave his account of an altercation where he almost shot an unarmed black man. Turns out, the suspect resisted and ran and DID have a gun that he ditched in the bushes shortly before the cops caught up to him again. This cop did not shoot but he wanted to share his experience and what went through his mind while he decided how to proceed with the scenario.

The officer's chief later took down the post and apologized for it. Why? If people actually wanted the truth they would demand both sides of the story. I find it deeply disturbing that people refuse to accept that police officers are human. They have to make split second decisions that could cost them, or someone else, their lives. Most of them don't take that responsibility lightly. For anyone to say that they don't want to hear it from the perspective of the other parties involved makes it clear to me that these "protesters" have no interest in real justice or the truth.

They don't care what officers go through on a daily basis. They don't want to hear how many encounters police have with citizens or suspects that didn't end badly. They definitely don't want to hear about the # of times an officer hesitated and lost his own life because of it. They just want to look at the few isolated cases, omit many of the key factors leading up to the end result and focus solely on what fits their racist narrative.

It's time for us to demand that all sides of the story are heard. Demand that our leaders start supporting our law enforcement officers and stop apologizing because the facts don't fit the narrative that the system is racist.

The facts are almost never what the media puts out to the public. They no longer have any concern for reporting the facts and verifying those facts prior to publication. It's time to hold them accountable for the racial divide that they have pushed in our country.

When the facts don't support your outrage

A 13 year old boy was shot and killed by police. Many will stop right there and scream racism, police brutality & plan their protests accordingly.

What we don't have right now are all the facts. Here's what we "know" based on the current media and police reports, which is nearly identical to the initial findings of all police involved shootings. More often than not, these are also the final findings of the investigation but people will continue to deny any research that doesn't support their narrative.

1. The young man was walking with 2 other friends that met the description of armed robbery suspects.

2. When the police approached, this young man ran.

3. He then pulled a gun from the waist of his pants. It was later found to be a bb gun that looks almost identical to what the police use.

Here is where this scenario went wrong.

1. If you are not guilty of some crime, why do you run?

2. Do not ever pull a weapon on the police unless you are prepared to die.

3. One of the 3 boys was arrested. Don't hang around with people that commit crimes and you'll be less likely to be targeted by the police.

I've seen comments that the suspects were 6'3" and this boy wasn't. I can't find any reports to support this statement.

Someone posted that he was shot in the back. Reports indicate the officer shot him several times and if he was turning & falling at the time, it's possible a shot hit his back. We shall find out once the investigation is done.

Police Brutality Must Stop

We must stop the war that is being waged against our law enforcement officers.

I know, you were expecting something different. You thought I was going to say the police are too violent and people need to rebel. Well, you thought wrong! You won't hear that from me...EVER.

Far too often we hear of cases where a student has gotten into an altercation with a police officer. In almost every case we find out that the incident started because the student refused to cooperate, follow instructions and/or leave when asked to do so by a teach, principal, etc.

I don't care how brutal or violent you think these videos are, the root cause of every situation is the lack of respect displayed by the student. These officers didn't just walk up to the teens and get violent. NO...they were provoked by a generation of entitled brats that think they can do whatever they want with no consequences. In many cases, the differing race of the student and officer are used to claim racial motivation for the actions of the officer when the reality is that they are just tired of dealing with people that want nothing more than to provoke them into losing their temper.

How about the double standard that comes into play when a black student attacks a white teacher. The media says nothing because that might make people realize that it's not a world where only white people are attacking black people.

People are attacking each other. In many cases it doesn't have anything to do with their race, people just have no moral compass anymore. They don't care about what other people think and they have no respect for human life.

It's really very simple...don't break the rules/laws and the cops won't have to be called. If the cops aren't called, there won't be any need for an altercation. However, if the police are called...cooperate and don't act like a total a$$ and you'll be fine.

UPDATE: In more racial hate mongering news, Teen Vogue posted this article which is clearly a biased opinion of the writer and in no way presents the facts as a true journalist would strive to do. Oh, who am I kidding? There are very few true journalists left in this world and Teen Vogue isn't exactly known for its intellectual articles. Sadly, I could identify the race of this writer before I even saw her name or picture. I love how she questions the integrity of those students that walked out in support of this officer and brushes the original issue under the rug. Her behavior doesn't excuse his but it's sure as hell was started it.

No, this doesn't make you racist

5 women died while in 5 different jails this week. I guess that makes all cops racist, right? No, I'm gonna have to call B.S. on that one.

It's no surprise that nearly every interaction with the police has been spun to be some sort of racial issue. What I just can't get past is why almost all of these people resisted or failed to cooperate.

In many cases, it started as a simple traffic stop. Why the hell did you argue, fight back and/or try to run? Take the warning/ticket, keep your mouth shut and move on. It's not a difficult concept. Thousands of people do it every day.

Now they want to create some trend from 5 black women that died in jail this month. 1 had health problems. 1 committed suicide. A 3rd potentially committed suicide. That leaves 2 more that could be considered questionable. How is that supposed to convince me that all cops are racist?

Just doesn't make sense. You know what does make sense? Not breaking the law. Staying out of jail. Staying alive!

Paper vs Bullets...who wins?

The answer? NOBODY WINS but the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence thinks shootings could be prevented by putting a "Gun Violence Restraining Order" in place.

There are already multiple restraining orders in place that do nothing. What good is that piece of paper when that person approaches you and you are alone, unarmed and unable to protect yourself? All that piece of paper does is make the person it is drawn against even more angry and possibly more determined to harm you.

Unless you have a police escort 24/7 a restraining order is no protection against these lunatics that are out to harm you...no matter what their method.

Electronic Meth Tracking

The meth problem in Indiana has gotten really bad. There has to be a way to stop it. What can be done? 1 step in the right direction is a new law that will track ephedrine & pseudoephedrine purchases electronically. This article talks about the changes taking place effective January 1st, 2012.

This is a big improvement over the manual, paper records that were only compiled at the pharmacy level. It should make it easier for pharmacies and law enforcement to track and harder for meth makers to purchase large quantities of this drug within the state of Indiana.

What about those that cross the state line to Illinois or Kentucky which is a short drive away? Is the electronic system only being used at stores within the Indiana state line? This will help alot for those meth users that are too lazy to cross the border but most of them will eventually "get smart" and go elsewhere.

Also, the max limit per 30 day period is 240 pills. I can't think of any legitimate need for that many pills per month. Shouldn't this limit be much lower? I know this is lower than the previous limit but it's still too much for me. I'm not sure how many pills it takes to make meth but we need to lower this limit.

What else could be done to prevent the meth making problem?
- Lower the number of pills allowed per month
- Require a prescription for products containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine
- If a purchase is attempted that is over the monthly limit, contact police immediately

I'm not sure how they plan to log these folks into the system but I sincerely hope they require a valid state issued ID and are logging them based on several factors that can be cross-referenced in the event someone has multiple ID's with different information.

There have been way too many labs and explosions in the state over the last year and something needs to be done. Police officers should not have to risk their lives for this sort of foolishness.
