It's not racist! It's demographics!

FEED A CHILD has apologized for a controversial ad that was deemed, by some, as racist. If you haven't seen it, there's a link below but here's a run down.

White woman "pets" black child and feeds him a small treat

White woman gives black child a treat for bringing her some sort of item

White woman eats dinner and gives black child a small piece as the child sits under the table

Ending message says some dogs are fed better than some children.

Now, as you first watch you may have thoughts similar to those reflected by others that have watched the video. How could anyone create something like this, let alone allow their child to participate? It's degrading, shocking, etc.

What most folks fail to realize is that this organization is based in South Africa. Wouldn't it stand to reason that the majority of the children they aim to feed are black? Wouldn't it make sense to appropriately represent the children you are trying to help?

Nevermind accurately representing the scenario they want the viewer to donate to. Clearly many folks are more concerned that it's racist to see a white woman feeding a black child than the actual plight of the children this commercial is meant to solicit help for.

Would they be happy to see a white child depicted in the role of the dog? Or would that also be racist because that would mean the organization believes people would donate more money for a white child, as opposed to a black child?

Maybe if some of these folks focused as much effort on helping these children as they do in pushing their constant claims of racism, we wouldn't need commercials like this.

The threats against women must stop!

I don't know what is happening in the world these days but I'm seeing an alarming increase in the number of outspoken women who have become the target of death threats, or worse.

I don't give a flying rats ass if you agree with what they are doing or talking about...You have no right to threaten them with bodily harm or injury.

This woman has received some very colorful threats online that you can see in this article, all because she dared to speak out for what she believes. She didn't threaten anyone, she spoke of her experiences...And was attacked for it.

The "Texas Cheerleader" that hunts big game and posts pics of it has been consistently attacked online for weeks because of what she chooses to do. If any of these folks actually knew the details, they might think differently.

How about we stop being assholes and respect the opinions of others?

Stop forcing discrimination on our kids

Elementary kids call out LEGO for discriminatory play sets

I find this comment from a viewer interesting:
"I have always been frustrated that LEGO decided they had to market separately to boys and girls, and that "girls" sets had to be pink and purple and pastel. Until that point I had not realized that primary colors were for boys only."

Perhaps this is because the commentor is more open minded and doesn't let themselves get pigeon holed into what people think is male or female appropriate. I think we spend way too much time looking for discrimination in everything that we do and it's what is causing the world to be such a negative, bitter place.

Yes, it's great that Lego now wants to make these more "fair" and put more variety in their toys but these kids didn't know the difference until an adult pointed this out...I'm sure of it. They didn't feel discrimination before but now they do and will probably continue to look for this in everything for the rest of their lives.

Congratulations, we've just made a new generation of paranoid, hypocondriacs who will want to sue everyone for some sort of discrimination when things don't go their way.

Ok, maybe most of these kids won't even remember this "project" when they get older but I do not like the fact that this idea of discrimination was placed in their head and then pounded home day after day as they "researched" each play set to see what sort of options were included.

I'm just so sick of kids being taught to hate and look for the bad things at such a young age. They'll figure it out on their own...let them be young and oblivious to the big bad world as long as you can.
