They don't care about the truth

I recently read an article where a police officer gave his account of an altercation where he almost shot an unarmed black man. Turns out, the suspect resisted and ran and DID have a gun that he ditched in the bushes shortly before the cops caught up to him again. This cop did not shoot but he wanted to share his experience and what went through his mind while he decided how to proceed with the scenario.

The officer's chief later took down the post and apologized for it. Why? If people actually wanted the truth they would demand both sides of the story. I find it deeply disturbing that people refuse to accept that police officers are human. They have to make split second decisions that could cost them, or someone else, their lives. Most of them don't take that responsibility lightly. For anyone to say that they don't want to hear it from the perspective of the other parties involved makes it clear to me that these "protesters" have no interest in real justice or the truth.

They don't care what officers go through on a daily basis. They don't want to hear how many encounters police have with citizens or suspects that didn't end badly. They definitely don't want to hear about the # of times an officer hesitated and lost his own life because of it. They just want to look at the few isolated cases, omit many of the key factors leading up to the end result and focus solely on what fits their racist narrative.

It's time for us to demand that all sides of the story are heard. Demand that our leaders start supporting our law enforcement officers and stop apologizing because the facts don't fit the narrative that the system is racist.

The facts are almost never what the media puts out to the public. They no longer have any concern for reporting the facts and verifying those facts prior to publication. It's time to hold them accountable for the racial divide that they have pushed in our country.

The lying MSM and our acceptance of it

I find it incredibly disgusting that you cannot read a single headline from the MSM these days that isn't laced with biased attacks on whichever side of the political spectrum the writer doesn't agree with. I can certainly understand a personal blogger being biased in their headlines but, why are we so accepting of these national news companies that continue to print biased stories, filled with false information and "evidence" that turns out to be from a completely different scenario years ago?

There should be laws in place that punish news outlets that continue to publish articles that aren't factual and unbiased. These aren't hometown bloggers that are expressing their personal opinions. These are, supposed to be, news outlets that keep the country informed of what is happening. Instead, they've all turned into gossip rags that just want to get their story out first, regardless of whether it's accurate or not.

For the writer or "journalist" reporting the fake news, they are suspended for a month without pay for their first offense. A 2nd offense, is immediate termination and they are barred from working for any other news outlet for a minimum of 2 years.

For the company that allowed the article to be published. They are fined 1 million dollars for every infraction with that money being donated to organizations in their area that take care of homeless veterans, etc.

We shouldn't be willing to accept their excuses of "oops, we picked the wrong photo" or "our source was mistaken". They should be required to take the time to investigate what really happened and not publish a story until they know the facts. Stop speculating and accepting information from anonymous sources. If you can't vet the source and verify their information, you shouldn't publish it.

I'm sick of the bias and even more pissed off at the fact that people are so accepting of this bullshit. Yes, people make mistakes but if you're going into the business of reporting news to the public, you should be required to act with some sense of morality and truthfulness. Problem is, most of the country is filled with immoral people. I mean, if they are willing to kill full term babies because the mother doesn't want to be inconvenienced, what do we expect? But that's a completely different subject for another blog post.

Defensive gun use stats that surprise noone

It shouldn't surprise anyone that the LA Times is posting a biased article that does nothing to hide their irrational fear of gun rights and gun owners.

In this article from June they claim that defensive gun use isn't as high as 2A supporters claim. What they fail to take into account are all the defensive guns uses that are not reported, because it doesn't suit the agenda of most of the liberal media outlets.

Times when criminals failed to commit a crime simply because a gun was present. Times when criminals didn't even attempt to commit the crime because they knew, or assumed, the occupants of the home or store would be armed.

This is why the majority of gun crimes are committed in gun free zones. Criminals aren't stupid. They aren't going to attempt to victimize people that can fight back. Maybe why they don't attack gyms or places where people could easily overpower their cowardly selves.

No matter how many gun crimes are committed you will never convince me that disarming the public will stop, or even reduce, this. Criminals don't follow laws so they will continue to do what they do, obtain guns by any means necessary, and commit these crimes. If you take away our right to defend ourselves, the only thing you'll increase is the # of victims and deaths.

Stop blaming the NRA. Stop claiming they condone this illegal activity. Stop saying they are blaming the victims for not being armed.

When we day "if someone had been armed, the victim count might have been lower"... That is fact.
