The lying MSM and our acceptance of it

I find it incredibly disgusting that you cannot read a single headline from the MSM these days that isn't laced with biased attacks on whichever side of the political spectrum the writer doesn't agree with. I can certainly understand a personal blogger being biased in their headlines but, why are we so accepting of these national news companies that continue to print biased stories, filled with false information and "evidence" that turns out to be from a completely different scenario years ago?

There should be laws in place that punish news outlets that continue to publish articles that aren't factual and unbiased. These aren't hometown bloggers that are expressing their personal opinions. These are, supposed to be, news outlets that keep the country informed of what is happening. Instead, they've all turned into gossip rags that just want to get their story out first, regardless of whether it's accurate or not.

For the writer or "journalist" reporting the fake news, they are suspended for a month without pay for their first offense. A 2nd offense, is immediate termination and they are barred from working for any other news outlet for a minimum of 2 years.

For the company that allowed the article to be published. They are fined 1 million dollars for every infraction with that money being donated to organizations in their area that take care of homeless veterans, etc.

We shouldn't be willing to accept their excuses of "oops, we picked the wrong photo" or "our source was mistaken". They should be required to take the time to investigate what really happened and not publish a story until they know the facts. Stop speculating and accepting information from anonymous sources. If you can't vet the source and verify their information, you shouldn't publish it.

I'm sick of the bias and even more pissed off at the fact that people are so accepting of this bullshit. Yes, people make mistakes but if you're going into the business of reporting news to the public, you should be required to act with some sense of morality and truthfulness. Problem is, most of the country is filled with immoral people. I mean, if they are willing to kill full term babies because the mother doesn't want to be inconvenienced, what do we expect? But that's a completely different subject for another blog post.

Designated Survivor - My review of season 3

I loved season 1 & 2 but I'm having trouble getting on board with season 3, now that Netflix is in charge. Only a few episodes in and there's been more cursing and sex in the first half of this season than all of the first 2 seasons together.

Way more liberal issues are being explored, which is fine, but the way they are delving into them with so much graphic content and depictions is a bit off putting. They've dropped the F bomb way more times than is needed to get the point across and Seth even called someone a cunt in one episode. I know that word is accepted in some places but in many parts of the US, it's still not considered a "nice" word.

Call me old fashioned but I'm just not comfortable with, or interested in, watching a show that feels the need to use foul language and graphic sex to get ratings. The show didn't need it but that seems to be how Netflix operates. Lots of liberal ideas being shoved in your face because they think that's what people want. I just hope this doesn't destroy the viewers and tank the show for good.

Dear ALL People

Why are we so dead set on fighting each other? If you google "Dear White People" you'll find hundred of posts. All telling white people why the things we do are racist. Why we're responsible for all the hardships of every non-white person on the planet. How we should be ashamed of ourselves if we are successful because we must have walked on someone else to get there.

If you google "Dear Black People" you get all the other posts but only one that matches your search criteria. Not surprisingly, the article talks about a movie to counter "Dear White People" but immediately turns into a bash of the idea that anything white people say is valid. Tons of tweets about how the show should go. All of them suggesting that white people should apologize for existing, for being successful, and for the hardship of others.

I'm sick of it. Nobody alive in the US today was a slave or owned a slave. I'm not responsible for anything that was done in the past and nobody is due reparations for something that never happened to them.

If your life sucks, that's on you. You're an adult and it's time people start taking responsibility for their own actions. Get off your lazy asses and make something of yourself. Stop trying to live off the suffering of others that are no longer alive.

The right to vote

Once again, democrats will try anything to increase their vote count. If it's not absentee ballots for dead people, why not increase their chances by one of these methods?

* Reduce the voting age: We don't think you're old enough to buy cigarettes or alcohol. And you have no real life experience but we're sure you can make a sound decision on the future of our country.

* Allow illegals to vote: You're breaking multiple laws by being here so let's reward you by allowing you to determine the future of our country.

* Allow inmates to vote: Clearly you have no regard for laws so let's give you a chance to change those pesky laws that prevent you from living the way you want.

Democrats know that the only way they can win is to change the rules.

I didn't get the job

So, I've been a supervisor at my current employer for a year and a half. I've had similar supervisory experience at my previous job. When a manager position came open, I applied for it.

To be honest, I like what I do now and didn't really want the job but I need more money so I didn't do much to prepare for the interview and didn't expect much, especially when I found out they were doing external interviews.

Yesterday, I found out that they'd chosen one of those external candidates. Someone with way more experience and a PhD. I mean, how can I compete with that?

I had no real emotion when they delivered the news. Other than the loss of a higher salary, I didn't really care. It's rather exciting to have someone new that has leadership and development experience that can help our team get even better. Skills that none of us currently have and need to improve on.

Some of the other applicants were not as accepting of this news. They were disappointed that they didn't choose to promote from within. I will say it was a bummer not to get the job but I understand how things work when you start to get higher up the food chain and it's not always in the best interest of the team to promote someone just because they are a current employee.

Do I think I could do the job? Yes.

Do I think I was the most qualified? Probably not.

Can you blame them for taking a chance on someone that could come in and make our team better. No way? It might not work out. This person might end up moving on after a short time. Maybe then I'll be ready. Maybe then I won't want the job.

We shall see what happens. I'm not going to waste time griping about something I can't change. I'm going to focus on improving myself so, if another position becomes available, I will be ready.
