Weigh In 4/30/11

I'm not sure what happened this week. I didn't do any official work outs but I did have some extra strenuous activity for 5-6 hours mid-week filling and hauling sand bags. This always seems to happen. When I work hard doing extra activities my body freaks out and I don't lose. In fact, this week it says I gained 0.8 lbs. Whatever, my clothes are fitting better so I know things are changing but that darn scale is making me mad.

There is no reason for me not be able to drop decent amounts of weight each week because I still have over 100 lbs to lose. This is really beginning to make me mad and I'm not sure what to do.

Things should get better soon because we are going to have to cut out all fast food and just eat at home on a limited budget. My severance runs out in June and I have to get this debt paid down or we aren't going to be able to make it on what little unemployment will pay. Plus, I can't find a job and I'm barely getting any responses from the multiple applications I sent out. It just doesn't make sense to take a job making less than what I would get paid on unemployment. I'm not trying to sound snooty but it would be stupid to do that...financially.

Hope things get easier to stick to because it's hard cutting back to half of what you had before. Gonna be a rough time for a while but I'm hoping it will be a life lesson for me and Josh about money and how it won't always be there so you have to plan ahead and save as much as you can.

Weigh In 04/16/11

After the scale said I had gained 6 lbs last week I was feeling frustrated. I was so frustrated that I didn't even log last weeks weigh in. So, this week I get on the scale and got rid of that 6 lbs of water and swelling weight and lost another 2 "real" lbs! Woohoo! I'll take it!

Mid Week Update

On Monday, the scale said I had gained 6 lbs in about 9 days. This morning, it says I've lost 5 of those. I knew it was alot of water and swelling so hopefully I can continue to eat clean the rest of today and tomorrow so that I show some sort of loss on saturday morning.

Day 1-Clean Out

After a few days of eating some "bad" stuff that made me swell up I'm starting a clean out today. Not really a detox but I'm going to try to eat lots of fruit and veggies and fill in with some slim fast shakes so I can really avoid the extra sodium that is in most of the stuff I eat normally.

Day 1: I've had black coffee, V8 Juice & a cup of grapes so far

Going to try to eat every few hours to bump up the metabolism. We'll see how this works.

Flush It Out

My body has gone into chaos mode and my scale says I GAINED 6 lbs in about 9 days. Needless to say, I'm a bit irritated but not surprised since I increased my daily activity last week helping a friend with some remodeling projects. I'm not sure if I ate too much or too little but I didn't eat good stuff so tomorrow I'm going to try to detox a bit and eat lots of fruit & veggies. Hopefully, that will also help the pain in my joints.

What The He!! ?

Saturday I stepped on the scale and saw a 2 lb gain. I was worried about what would be reflected because I've worked for a friend's renovation business several days and burned a huge amount of calories per my HRM (around 2500 on most days). I decided that since my body was obviously confused by the new activity I would just skip this weeks weigh in and try again later.

This morning I stepped on the scale to see if anything had changed. I'm not showing a 6 lb gain.

Are you kidding me? What the hell is happening with my body? I know my joints and muscles are sore so the lactic acid build up is not helping but how in the world can I have gained 2 lbs in a week and than another 4 lbs in 2 additional days? That is not fair when I've been working on my feet for 4-6 hours a day 3-4 times a week. :(

No work out or work today but tomorrow I'm going to haul a load or 2 of wood so I'll be burning over 1000 calories a trip I'm sure. Should I eat those calories or not? I just don't know what to do. Last week I was eating about 2000 calories a day when I worked hard and burned a ton of calories. I just don't know what my body wants anymore. The week before I didn't work out at all, had one 2000+ calorie day and still lost 3 lbs. This doesn't make sense.

Maybe my body just needs the bare minimum and the exercise calories need to be left alone and not eaten. I just don't know. Yesterday and today are a few hundred calories over because I didn't work out. Guess I'll try to stay around my 1370 goal each day the rest of the week, drink tons of water and see if I can flush all the crap and confusion out of my body!

I'm just frustrated because I know I've been working hard and burning calories.

Weigh In 4/2/11

This week I have been a slug. On Sunday, I started developing a cyst which made it painful to sit or walk. Needless to say, I didn't work out after Sunday. On Tuesday, I even went over my calorie goal by more than double. The rest of the week I usually ate within 100 calories of my goal and stayed away from sodas.

Still, I didn't expect to see a big loss on the scale. Heck, with the Taco Bell Tuesday fiasco I actually expected to gain weight so this morning I was a little nervous.

I stepped on the scale and it said 264.8. Now, that's not a good weight...unless the scale last read 267.8.

A 3 lb loss in 1 week. That's a total loss of 21.2 lbs since 01/01/11! Woohoo!

I'm not sure how it happened but I will take it. Let's just hope that it wasn't a fluke and that those pounds stay gone this coming week!
