#IfObamaDead

You may have heard that the twitter account for @foxnewspolitics was apparently hacked over night and several tweets were made indicating President Obama had been killed and Joe Biden was taking over. Here is what I saw when I looked at their tweets this morning. Just before all these tweets, @foxnewspolitics actually tweeted that they had regained control of their accounts. Were they hacked twice or did they just forget to delete these? Who knows.

That immediately let to the trending topic of #IfObamaDead, and boy, did the crazies come out in droves. Most people were still unaware of the reason for the TT but that didn't stop some nasty, borderline racist, comments. At least that is how I perceived them.

That's a bit racist, don't you think? If someone had created #IfBushDead and I posted that a "colored" person did it I'd be branded a racist but it's ok coming from the other side? I think NOT!

Again, why is it ok to blame white people and call us all white trash when she doesn't even know who started this TT? Racism comes from all areas of ethnicity.

I'm just saddened by this guys grammar. He most likely talks and types like this all the time. Our society is getting lazy!

There are actually many posts about the poor grammar of the TT so I'm happy that some people at least acknowledge the fact that society and grammar are suffering!

Again, what's with the "retarded" and "Smh white ppl" comments? Would it be ok for me to "SMH" and "black ppl"? Let's grow up folks and stop holding a grudge for something that happened way before you were born! Just saying. :)

Well, really...they can't just delete trending topics because some people don't like them. If they did that, people would be screaming about freedom of speech. It's just a topic, if you don't like it, don't read the tweets. Your choice.

Wow, wonder how this guy feels?! LOL

While it can be entertaining to watch the lunatics show how crazy they are, it's annoying that we are still so filled with hate and ignorance. Why can't people just get along and stop trying to get a hand out for something that happened in the past? Be your own person...and if you can't be successful, it's your own fault. Don't try to blame it on something that happened before you were born!

Life is unfair...you have to learn to deal with it and move on!

Respectful Children

I guess I never noticed it til I lost my job and was home more but almost every kid in this neighborhood is extremely rude and ill-mannered. They have no qualms about drinking and eating everything they can get their hands on in my house and they seem to think that whatever belongs to my household, automatically belongs to them as well.

They've asked me numerous times if they can have some of our fireworks to shoot off and they don't clean up after themselves. I'm about to ban them all from the house for the rest of the summer unless they can prove they will clean up, which will never happen. I even told them to clean up a mess they made and when I came back, the mess was still there and the kids were gone.

Seriously?? It would take you about 3 minutes to pick up what you left on my floor. If they don't start doing it they won't have the chance to make the mess any more because they won't be allowed in my house. I've already hidden all the drinks because I'll be darned if I spend all the money I have for them to eat and drink. Especially, when all the other parents work and I don't right now!

You live a block away, bring your own drink, go home and get one or you are more than welcome to have water.

So irritating!

Fireworks...without a big announcement.

I was really hoping that I'd be able to combine 4th of July with the announcement that I had found a job after 6+ months. Unfortunately, that is not going to happen. So many things are on hold right now until I can find a job and get settled into a normal routine again. I've had some new leads open up and I'm hoping one of them turns out to be the right one. I'm just getting frustrated that I can't seem to find what is right for me. Heck, I can't even seem to get my foot in the door somewhere that might NOT be right for me.

Probably for the best, I don't want to take a job just to carry over until I can find something else. I really want to find a job that I like and can grow into so I don't have to ever go through the job hunt process again. It is NOT fun! :)

Still have hopes that the last interview I had will come through for me but they were looking for someone with cross sales experience and I just don't have it. Fingers crossed...but still looking and sending out applications.

HP7 Is Coming!!

Ok, confess...who is waiting as impatiently as I am for July 15th to arrive?

Our local theater is having a Harry Potter marathon starting at 5am and running all day & night until the release of the final installment after midnight. Click here for details. If I thought I could trust my kid at home by himself for that long I would totally be going to this. Guess I'll just have to stay at home, pop some corn and watch them all on my own TV instead.

Either way, I'm hoping I can get there during one of the first matinees to see the newest edition on July 15th.

I'm so excited because I haven't read any of the books yet and have no idea how this all ends. Yes, I'm one of "those people" that refuse to read the books before seeing the movie. Unfortunately, they have to cut out so much when they make the movies that I would be disappointed during the entire viewing if I knew what was supposed to be included, but wasn't.

My mom has all the books so I plan to read them all once the movies are all out and viewed.

Xander's 1st Birthday Party

Had a belated 1st birthday party for my nephew Xander and he was remarkably neat with his cupcake...until he nearly fell asleep and put his face down in the tray of his chair. He was unimpressed with the first several packages because they only had clothes in them. Once we hit the toy farm animals, he was good to go!
